BOOK NOOK REVIEWS: I’m Sorry by Michael Ian Black

TITLE: I’m Sorry

AUTHOR: Michael Ian Black

ILLUSTRATOR: Debbie Ridpath Ohi

PUBLISHER: Simon & Schuster Books For Young Readers, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Potato is very sorry. He didn’t mean to say those mean things and hurt Flamingo’s feelings.

But…saying sorry is hard.

It’s the hardest thing he’s ever had to do.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : Micheal Ian Black’s I’M BORED, illustrated by my friend, Debbie Redpath Ohi is one of my favorite picture books. When I found out Debbie illustrated I’M SORRY, about a talking potato and his friend, Flamingo, I was eager to read it. Mr. Black has a wonderful way of infusing humor and personality into the most unique characters. Young readers will be able to relate to Potato feeling so sorry because he said some things to his friend Flamingo and now wishes he could take it all back. Apologizing to save a friendship can be hard and scary. I’M SORRY is a wonderful book to show children doing the right thing can be frightening sometimes, but sure worth it in the end! A great addition to any library!

This sounds like another great book to add to my must-read list. And I’m not sorry about that.
