BOOK NOOK REVIEWS: The Epic Adventures Of Huggie & Stick by Drew Daywalt

TITLE: The Epic Adventures of Huggie & Stick

AUTHOR: Drew Daywalt

ILLUSTRATOR: David Spencer

PUBLISHER: Philomel Books, 2018

SYNOPSIS: “When super cheerful Stick and grumpy stuffed bunny Huggie get thrown from a backpack, the adventure is on! Together this odd couple survives encounters with sea-faring pirates, raging rhinos in Africa, sword-wielding royalty in Europe, stick-eating panda bears in Asia, sharks in Australia, hungry penguins in Antarctica, and piranhas in South America–all before finally making it home to North America. A fantastically funny read-aloud about two unlikely friends and their epic journey around the world.”

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : The world is full of optimists or pessimists and NYT best selling author, Drew Daywalt, has found a way to showcase the struggle of two polar opposite characters’ struggle to navigate a trip around the world as they try to get back to their owner. Not every day is rosy, but Stick manages to find a fun-loving adventure everywhere these two travel. And not every day is a grey day, but Huggie struggles to see the joy in hiking the world with Stick. This fun story will help show young readers that it takes all kind of people to make up the world, but working together, anything can be achieved…including finding your way home again! A MUST addition to any children’s library!
