BOOK NOOK REVIEWS: It Fell From The Sky by The Fan Brothers

TITLE: It Fell From The Sky

AUTHOS/ILLUSTRATORS: The Fan Brothers

PUBLISHER: Simon & Schuster Books For Young Readers, 2021

SYNOPSIS: “It fell from the sky on a Thursday.

None of the insects know where it came from, or what it is. Some say it’s an egg. Others, a gumdrop. But whatever it is, it fell near Spider’s house, so he’s convinced it belongs to him.

Spider builds a wonderous display so that insects from far and wide can come look at the marvel. Spider has their best interests at heart. So what if he has to charge a small fee? So what if the lines are long? So what if no one can even see the wonder anymore?

But what will Spider do after everyone stops showing up?”

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : For me, the cover alone of IT FELL FROM THE SKY was enough to draw me in. I walked into my local library and it caught my eye from across the room. The Fan Brothers did an exceptional job of creating the insects’ world where this strange, shiny object seemingly fell from the sky to rock their world! I love the way this story gives multiple theories as to what this item is and why it showed up in their lives. Young readers are introduced to a variety of critters they might actually find in their own back yards, and get to meet Mr. Spider who may not have the best intentions, and who strives to corner the market on anyone wanting to get a closer look at the alien object. In the end, Spider deals with an unexpected tragedy and learns a better way of dealing with any future visitors from the sky. A great addition to any library!

I know what it is, but I’m not telling. It may belong to me because I lost a few of my own.
