WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : According to a study by the IRIS Center and supported by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs, nearly 40% of school age children are classified as “struggling readers”. Author, Dianna Wilson Sirkovsky, shines a light on this issue in a delightful way with her picture book, JAMES READING RESCUE. In her story Jack, a struggling reader, decides to practice his reading skills by visiting the local animal shelter and sharing his books with the cats there. Through the three P’s…persistence, patience, and practice…Jack not only improves his reading skills, but gains a new friend along the way! A great addition to any library!
