WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : This time of year brings back many childhood memories. The rest of the year was pretty hard, but once Halloween was in the air, I knew my mother would be pulling out all the stops to bring a little holiday cheer to our home. Just like in this story, there was a turkey platter that always made it to the table, and a gravy boat that was in my mother’s family for generations. I’m sure there are many families that can relate to this girl’s story. Traveling during the holidays. A house full of relatives she hasn’t seen in a year. A grandmother to love on her. But when there is an accident during the Thanksgiving meal, she discovers there is much more to those holiday visits than a roasted turkey or the family gravy bowl. Focusing on loving memories and family makes this book a wonderful addition to any library!
