BOOK NOOK REVIEWS: Santa Claus The World’s Number One Toy Expert by Marla Frazee

TITLE: Santa Claus The World’s Number One Toy Expert

AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR: Marla Frazee

PUBLISHER:  Harcourt, 2005

SYNOPSIS:

How does Santa know how to match the exact right toy with the exact right kid every December?

He knows because he’s the world’s number one kid and toy and gift expert, and he works long, long hours the whole year through, taking notes, compiling his research, thinking and testing and changing his mind. Then, at last, he gets it all figured out, and on Christmas morning, he makes magic happen.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK :  The illustrations in this story grabbed me from the very start and wouldn’t let me go. Author/Illustrator Marla Frazee shines a whimsical light on just how seriously Santa takes his job as the world’s number one toy expert. From trying out each and every toy to hand picking which one will eventually make its way under some special child’s Christmas tree, Santa works hard year-round to make things perfect. And at the end of the day, when all those presents have been delivered, it’s time for that jolly ol’ elf to unwrap a special gift of his own! I kind of wish this book would have been around when my own son was still a child, eagerly counting down the days to a visit from Saint Nick. What a great addition to any library!
