WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : I have to begin this review with the acknowledgment that I don’t usually read or review this type of children’s book. Detective stories are not usually my thing, but I wanted to give this book a try. A few things, like the fact it’s written from an Australian language/dialect viewpoint caused me some reading confusion. There was also a bit too much “telling” over “showing” for my tastes, and occasionally a bit of overexplaining what the reader should be able to figure out on their own through a strong story. Those personal preferences aside, THE CASE OF THE MISSING MOGGIES does manage to provide young readers with a cute who-done-it adventure where Ah-Fur and his cousin Show-Fur travel to a foreign country in the hopes of recovering some important kidnapped kitties. Author, Debra Clewer, has written a nice story that would make a cute addition to many libraries!
