TITLE: Sloth Sleeps Over
AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR: Blythe Russo
PUBLISHER: Viking, 2022
SYNOPSIS: Sloth is invited to her first sleepover at her best friend Paloma’s house and even though she doesn’t quite know what to expect, she’s very confident in her sleep skills. She’s an expert when it comes to napping, dozing, or catching some Zs, so she’s ready to excel at sleepovers too.
But when she arrives, she finds out that Paloma wants to stay up all night! Will Sloth be able to keep her eyes open or is their friendship in for a rude awakening?
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : Ever since the movie, Zootopia, I’ve fallen in love with sloths. They are such incredible animals and any book with sloths in them are sure to entertain! Debut author/illustrator Blythe Russo creates a cute point of view when Sloth gets invited for a sleep over, only to discover the very thing they WON’T be doing is SLEEP! Sloth is disappointed and afraid she will hurt her friend’s feelings by falling sleep during all the fun activities. Young readers will love following Sloth’s adventures as she discovers staying awake can actually be a lot of fun! A cute addition to any library!
