BOOK NOOK REVIEWS: Merry Christmas Mr. Mouse by Caralyn & Mark Buehner

TITLE: Merry Christmas Mr. Mouse

AUTHOR: Caralyn Buehner

ILLUSTRATOR: Mark Buehner

PUBLISHER: Dial Books For Kids, 2015

SYNOPSIS:

When Mr. Mouse and his family move into the warm spot beneath the kitchen stove in a big house, they discover something new and wonderful: an evergreen tree decorated with lights, ginger and peppermint smells in the air, and cookies baking in the oven. They hear about a child born long ago, and a jolly man named Santa who brings gifts to celebrate Jesus’s birth on a day called Christmas. And so Mr. and Mrs. Mouse decide that their family should celebrate Christmas too.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : I love the Snowmen series by author/illustrator team Caralyn and Mark Buehner, so I couldn’t wait to see what they did with a little critter named Mr. Mouse who had a big Christmas dream. Colorful illustrations compliment this delightful story of one mouse family’s decision to celebrate Christmas in a big way. I love the theme of love and family while the artwork invites young readers to discover ordinary items turned into a quaint mouse’s home for the holidays. A lovely addition to any library!
