I felt the late morning sun dragging me away from an enticing dream and into the world of the living. Slowly pushing aside the covers, I rolled over, hoping to dive back into my dream but something in my bed chased that possibility away. It took a moment to realize what that  lump I’d almost laid on was…

Ten pounds of wiggle and packed with the determination of a bulldog to stay in bed on a chilly Sunday morning. But I knew I was Queen of this house so I set out to show that mini dynamo who was boss.

I commanded him to get out of bed.

I threw back the covers to unearth his man cave.

I even tried to bribe him with treats.

I knew I could have forcibly removed him from his slumbering abode, but Mason was an old man in a little dog’s body. I really couldn’t blame him for wanting to snooze a little bit longer in a warm bed. But I had to be strong if I was going to retain my Queen title.

So we began an epic battle of wills.

I almost had him. I could feel his determination waiver. That was, until he turned those “puppy dog” eyes up to mine and I finally had to concede who was REALLY ruling the roost…

Hi Chloe and welcome to my blog! That cute old man in my post today is actually my best friend’s dog I’m babysitting while he and his family are out of town. He provides a dose of unconditional loves and licks every time I visit…;)

Thanks for stopping by and come back any time!

Was there really ever a doubt? Old man Mason is smarter than the average human. At least, in his mind.
