BOOK NOOK REVIEWS: A Very Hairy Christmas by Susan Lowell

TITLE: A Very Hairy Christmas

AUTHOR: Susan Lowell

ILLUSTRATOR: Jim Harris

PUBLISHER: Rio Chico, 2012

SYNOPSIS:

The javelinas are back and full of holiday cheer! Inside their cozy home, they bake gingerbread cookies, string lights, and set their boots out for Santa to fill with presents. Meanwhile, someone is devising a plan to ruin their Christmas festivities! Who is coming down the chimney? Will our favorite hairy creatures get away by the hair of their chinny-chin-chins this time?

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK : I couldn’t even get past the cover without laughing out loud at the humorous faces of the three javelinas caroling in the desert. I’ve read Ms. Lowell’s other javalinas book, THE THREE LITTLE JAVALINAS, so I was looking forward to their Christmas adventures! From getting ready for Santa’s visit to battling a coyote dressed in a red suit, these three desert characters are sure to delight young readers for years to come! A great addition to any library!
